Your radiator is the cooling house of your entire car. It works to make sure things do not overheat and keeps things running smoothly.
Your radiator works to cool your entire engine. The fluid inside your radiator runs through your entire engine, cooling it to an acceptable temperature so that things do not overheat and so that your car keeps driving.
The Radiator cycles the fluid from inside the engine time and time again and makes sure that as the internal combustion process is happening, nothing is getting too hot and the car is running as it should be. Without your radiator, your car is going to most likely overheat.
In the lifetime of your car, you may or may not have an issue with your radiator. Cars can go their entire lifespan without ever having a radiator issue while others need work right off the lot. This is an entirely necessary process that helps to make sure your car is not going to overheat.
What happens if your car overheats? For starters you run the risk of liquids that are needed for the car to run evaporating, you may see smoke or steam coming out of the car, and you may run the risk of the plastic elements of your engine melting. An overheating engine is one that is not going to run and that is going to be seriously struggling prior to its stopping.
If your radiator has a hole, if it is damaged, or if it otherwise needs work and you neglect to have it fixed, you are most likely going to be dealing with an engine that is shot. The internal combustion process creates a lot of excess heat and it is the job of the radiator to move that heat away and to help maintain acceptable temperature within the engine. If your car has radiator trouble and you do nothing, you are likely going to have a car that does not run and that has a great deal of difficulty running if you do happen to get it moving.
