There is a difference between a two-wheel (front wheel) and four-wheel alignment, just as there is a difference between a front wheel and an all-wheel drive. All-wheel drive cars should have four-wheel alignments. Proper wheel alignment ensures your vehicle drives straight and doesn’t damage other parts. Wheel alignment is when our technicians check and adjust the angles of your wheels to best match the car frame.
Every part of your car is important to performance for every area. Your tires, suspension and steering work in unison, and when they are not aligned, they can need replacements sooner and cause your car to be more difficult to handle. Having your wheels aligned properly not only helps to increase fuel efficiency but can also save your tires. Bad alignment will cause your tires to wear faster and have to be replaced sooner.
The biggest signs of needing an alignment – aside from hitting something, is your steering wheel not being centered when driving straight and your car pulling to one side or the other when driving straight.
You should come in to have your vehicle looked at when any of the above are noticed. Sometimes it is nothing, other times we are able to catch an issue before it becomes a major problem. Doing this can save not only money but time later on. There is no real recommended time frame to have it checked otherwise. We always recommend consulting your owner’s manual for other questions or concerns or coming in to ask our trained and knowledgeable staff.
While we’re working on your alignment, we also check your tire pressure and health. In doing so we’re helping your car to run smoothly, for longer. Bryden Motors is happy to be the go-to service center for drivers all around the Beloit, WI area.
